    • Props

  • The film’s budget was around $3k. The production design budget was $700. The remaining budget went to equipment and labor.

  • This is a low budget horror feature about a “Demon Duo” paranormal-fighting team who travels to a remote and purportedly haunted vacation home with their trusty camera man.

The premise is that the film is recovered raw footage that the characters recorded for their YouTube channel.

For this project, there were two essential elements to deliver:

    (1) Set Decorating: A sterile ‘Airbnb style’ home impacted by the various machinations over the course of the movie

    (2) Props:  Real life context to characters & lore for the film’s villain

SET DECORATING: STERILE VACATION HOME WHERE HORRORS ABOUND

    • Replace art with generic and public domain art

    • Give visuals to “horror” elements that are only loosely described in the script

    • Continuity Challenge: Due to our shooting schedule, we had to fully breakdown the set halfway through shooting and reset it weeks later. This posed a major continuity challenge that required concise, clear, and organized documentation to reset accurately.

    PROPS

    • Demon Duo materials, tools, and gear

    • Branding materials and fake endorsement products for main characters’ YouTube channel sponsorships

    • Handwritten notes from the Jestr written in the 18th century - I handmade these and aged them

    • Various documents reportedly dating back to the 18th century - for this I sourced a few veritable documents to lend maximum credibility, but due to budget constraints, handmade and printed the bulk of the documents.

    • Various undefined “artifacts.” In the script and film, the explicit Jestr lore is mysterious and sparse. I had to create the Jestr lore and backstory behind each and every artifact and item of his that we saw on-screen.
